TASA Book
The TASA booklet was a prototype for an art conference held at St. Edward's University. The book, heavy in text, describes individual events during the conference as well as locations, dates, and times. The manual also gave visitors information on artists and presentations as well as maps to get around campus and the St. Edward's area of Austin.
Bauhaus Buttons
These buttons were designed to represent the Bauhaus movement and were to be given to visitors of an exhibition at the Blanton Museum in Austin. The poster was designed to inform and display the system of buttons to curators at the Blanton. The text reads: "The complete set of commemorative buttons features different prominent artists from the Bauhaus movement. A subset of four buttons are designed in the vein of a particular artist and offered throughout the week. Both members and non-members have the opportunity to leave with one or all four buttons featured the week of their visit. This is to mirror the inclusivity of the Bauhaus movement while also showcasing the style and character of these honored Bauhaus artists."

Kitchen of Meaning
This poster was made to promote the Kitchen of Meaning series at St. Edward's. The poster's design reflects my interpretation of the word "nascent" meaning just coming into existence and showing signs of future potential.

Weather Report
The goal of this project was to communicate the weather for 4 cities over a 3-day weekend by using the LATCH system of organization (location, alphabet, time, category, hierarchy). I learned how to use motion clearly and effectively within an organized composition. Additionally, I learned to organize and manage a greater number of layers in After Effects. The biggest challenge of this project was creating clean and fluid motions while keeping all the information on the screen. I included a revision of the video that eliminated the lengthy middle section emphasizing time. The revision has a more cohesive and concise feel.

Instructional Design
For the instructional design project, we were to create a piece that communicated how to complete a simple task. For my project on how to introduce yourself, I chose to make 2-sided panels for an installation piece in the Madrid Barajas airport. One side of the panels portrayed introductions in a business setting, and the other portrayed casual setting introductions. I loved making the collage pieces that demonstrated how people introduce themselves in Spain. The challenge was visualizing how the installation would interact with the airport space and the viewers. Designing the mockup poster helped me refine the details such as measurements and placement.

Word In Motion
The word in motion project introduced me to Adobe After Effects. The goal of the project was to perform the meaning of the chosen words through typographical motion. I began to familiarize myself with After Effects and learned how to use motion in a purposeful way.
Blue Squares
This assignment required us to duplicate exactly an animation that involved different types of After Effects movements. Through copying the blue squares clip, I learned basic features of After Effects.

Cognitive Map
I decided to make a stop motion video for the cognitive map assignment because my thoughts are often scattered and incoherent, especially in the morning on the way to class. A video forced me to organize my thoughts in a timeline and choose the most important, recurring thoughts to document. Through making my first stop motion video,
I learned how to plan ahead, sketch storyboards, and video edit. I really enjoyed drawing and seeing it all come together.

Perceptual Map
The perceptual map documented what I predominantly smell, touch, see, hear, and taste from the moment I wake up to the moment I arrive at my first class in the morning. This map helped me further develop symbol and icon making skills in Illustrator. I enjoyed making the symbols and organizing a grid to describe the city as I perceive it during my morning route.
Artifact Map
The artifact map was the first map we created in the personal geography series. This encompasses the physical route from my apartment to my first class using a city grid of streets and inset images of beginning and ending points. Making this map helped me develop organization and communication skills by using lines and symbols to convey a clear path.

Herbert Bayer Research Paper
This assignment gave us the freedom to choose our own research subject. The open framework of this research paper allowed me to further explore the genius of designer, architect, and photographer Herbert Bayer as well as present the information in an interesting way. I chose to make a booklet that forced me to deal with image/text relationships. I loved every part of making this booklet, especially learning more about the inspirational work of Herbert Bayer.
Suprematism & Constructivism
The presentation I gave on Suprematism and Constructivism opened my mind to a group of inspirational artists. Preparing this presentation was interesting and educational. Despite the public speaking nerves, I was happy to share what I learned with my classmates. The presentation focused predominantly on the Suprematist and Constructivist artists of Russia and Germany, with emphasis on Kazimir Malevich and Vladimir Tatlin. I loved researching these two movements and seeing the influences of Suprematism and Constructivism on modern design today.
Image Analysis
The image analysis called for us to choose a design piece made within the past year and link its components to art movements of the past. It was interesting seeing how much modern design draws from work of the past. The book cover I chose demonstrates influences from movements like Suprematism, Constructivism, Plakatstil, Arts and Crafts, and International Typographic Style.
